The Russians has awakened at once. The whole country is outraged by State Duma elections held last weekend. The authorities attempting to keep power with massive falsifications, lie, and intimidation are illegitimate. Those who “won” on such elections have no right to rule the country, issue laws, nor dictate people how to live. We do not trust such authorities! WHAT WAS HAPENNING IN RUSSIA TODAY:

Have you ever heard about russian woman Svetlana Peunova? No. You haven't. Russian mass media keeps Peunova a secret, but she is the one who cares about the people.

On april 21st this year a big campaign named “Is it really Putin?” will take place in the biggest Russian cities. We don’t trust Putin anymore, because his clan got richer than the richest man in the world, but the population of the country is rapidly decreasing as like as it was while the World War.
95 per cent of industrial enterprises and banks are in foreigner’s hands. Our country is almost sold without fight. NATO has the right to be a host on our land!
Now they want to allow landing of super heavyweight cargo airplanes from Afganistan. We are assured that it’s going to be just a logistical base, but we think it’s a lie – we are sure it’s going to be NATO base and we are not able to control what they will transport on those planes.
Putin gave our Amur islands to China and now Chinese army in no time can trespass Russian border. Razor wire is taken away and our border guards are moved to centre of the country.
Our raw products are being transferred abroad, the country is being pulled in World Trade Organization( WTO) which means our products will cost as much as imoprterd ones for us. We will be eating GMO products as it’s one of the WTO terms.
We don’t trust Putin, because he won the elections by breaking the law (he made up a filter for those who wanted to take part in elections and be a president). Only for that he had to be removed from the elections.
We don’t trust Putin because we are not even sure that the person who has been on TV, has taken all decisions, has appeared at conferences for the last 12 years is real Putin. His appearance differs from one he had years ago. It makes us think they fob us off Putin doubles. It means our country is ruled by strangers.
We call for specialists (criminalists, photographers, cosmetic surgeons, workers of airports, etc) to help find and analyze materials and prove that Putin is not real.

I don't think you have anything to worry about with regard to China.
According to The Telegraph, in 2009:
'Though 16 types of GM food products are allowed in Russia – eight types of maize, six types of potato, one type of rice and one variant of sugar beet – GM levels remain low.
Under Russian law, if the GM percentage in a product is less than 0.9pc, the producer is entitled to mark it as a GM-free product.
According to Olefirenko, an inspection carried out by Greenpeace in the Moscow region showed that only 0.4pc of food products tested positive for GM, with levels varying from 0.1 to 0.5pc.
These figures are also confirmed by statistical data from the Federal Service on Surveillance of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing, and epidemiological centres.
Recent research suggests a scant 1-2pc of products sold into Russia’s food market contain GM.
Food standards legislation, anti-GM campaigns and public opinion all have roles to play in this situation. Agricultural producers understand that, while GM food is cheaper to produce, getting caught could be far costlier.
Indeed, Moscow’s Bakery Plant No 22, which sued Greenpeace five years ago for putting its products on the organisation’s blacklist of GM food products, estimated lost profit at 1.5m roubles.
The plant lost the court battle and had to defend its GM policy to Greenpeace in order to make it onto the list of products certified as GM-free.
Meanwhile, the system assessing GM levels in products imported into Russia is basically flawed, as it only checks a limited range of GM products.
Olefirenko warns that though the system is workable for potatoes and maize, due to financial constraints it is not able to test tomatoes, squash or apples.
Nevertheless, she maintains that consumers can still protect themselves against GM food by checking where the products came from, and by analysing the GM policy of the country of origin and the producer.
If all this proves too complicated, consumers can opt to pay more for GM-free products available in special shops.

I'm a bit worried about what David Cameron might have agreed with Obama at their recent meeting as they were due to discuss GM.

On the one hand you claim to be in Russia as an exchange student, & then you talk as if you are a citizen of Russia. Which is it?
