"System Information" on the left hand menu in My Computer will tell you for certain, but as zzz says, the dialogue box says you've only SP1. On the other hand, when I feel that I don't want to use my computer for a few hours, I've got SP3 to instal as well - if I've a problem, I'll let you know! |

I dont think it does. I think it says the security update for SP1 isnt downloading. I dont think it implies that thats the only SP i have, especially as i downloaded and installed SP3 last night and still have this SP1 problem

I sorted it at last.
I ended up downloading loads of these things and got confused so i restored to last night before downloading sp3. It took me back to Sp2 so i did already have it. Anyway basically i found and followed this QUOTE The issue can be caused by a damaged .NET Framework component. That's useful to know; I'm reluctant to try and instal the updates my computer is pestering me to instal.
I'm using XP HE SP2; but I've a copy of XP Pro Black SP3 that I've been meaning to instal - so I'm thinking I might just as well go ahead with a clean instal, as it's something I should probably do anyway. Oh, and by the way - what the hell is .NET Framework? I downloaded it lastnight as I didn't have it and needed it for something (apparently). I still can't figure out what it is. |
